  • Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East.

4. Blending Hydrogen

  • Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) starts India’s maiden project of blending hydrogen into the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network.

  • This project marks the stepping stone of India’s journey towards a hydrogen-based and carbon-neutral future.

5. India’s 1st GeoPark

  • Approved by the Geological Survey of India.
  • At Lamheta village on the banks of the River Narmada in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
  • The geopark is a unified area that protects the geological heritage and promotes the sustainable well-being of the people living in that area.

6. Italian President Sergio Mattarella was re-elected for a second term

7. Anti-Untouchability day

  • Observed by the Tamil Nadu government.
  • Observed on 30th January 2022 to mark the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

All India Anti Untouchability League:

  • It was founded by Gandhi on 30th September 1932.
  • To eradicate untouchability in India.
  • It was renamed Harijan Sevak Sangh (Servants of Harijan Society)

8. Xiomara Castro was sworn in as the first female president of Honduras. Honduras is in the North American continent.

9. UPI safety and awareness week

  • Announced by NPCI (National Payment Corporation of India).
  • February 1-7 as ‘UPI Safety and Awareness Week’ and the whole of February as ‘UPI Safety and Awareness month’.
