6. Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan launches the country’s first-ever national security policy.

7. The Philippines approves the purchase of Brahmos cruise Missiles with India.

8. 74th Indian Army Day:

India is celebrating the 74th Army day on Jan 15, 2022.
To commemorate Lt. Gen. KM Cariappa took over as the first commander-in-chief of the Indian army.

9. 20th Dhaka international film festival begins on January 15-23, 2022 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

10. Republic Day celebrations will now begin every year from 23rd January instead of 24th January:

The step was taken to include the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Subash Chandra Bose.
The birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose is celebrated as “Parakram Divas” across the country.

11. Kachai Lemon Festival:

Celebrated in Manipur.
Kachai Lemon of Manipur has been accorded Geographical Indication Tag.

12. National Start-up Day:

The government of India has decided to celebrate January 16 as National Startup day.
