1. 1st ASEAN-India Start-up Festival 2022 inaugurated in INDONESIA:
- The 4-day event is part of the overall ASEAN-India Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation program.
- It will strengthen the collaboration in science, technology & innovation between the ASEAN countries & India.
2. Ex Garuda:
- Bilateral Air exercise between India and France.
- Held at Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
- This is the seventh edition of the ‘Garuda’ air exercise jointly carried out by India and France.
3. World Stroke Day:
- Observed on 29th October.
- To emphasize the serious nature and high rates of stroke.
- It is also observed to raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of strokes.
4. Women Friendly Tourism Project – KERALA:
- To ensure safe and hygienic destinations for women.
- The all-women tour packages, which include food, accommodation, transportation and community guides, will be controlled and operated by women.
5. Terai Elephant Reserve – Uttar Pradesh:
- The Centre has approved the setting up of the Terai Elephant Reserve (TER) as a part of Project Elephant at Dudhwa-Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh.
- The Terai Elephant Reserve is the 33rd Elephant Reserve in India which is spread over 3,049 sq km.
- The Terai Elephant Reserve will be developed in the joint forest areas of Dudhwa and Piliphit tiger reserve.
- This will cover the conservation of four wild species including tiger, Asian elephant, swamp deer, and one-horned rhinoceros.
- Project Elephant – launched in 1992
- Indian Elephant – Elephas maximus
- It is included in Appendix I of CITES and Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972.
- World Elephant Day – 12th August
