1. Tiger rallies started across 51 Reserves
Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav started off tiger rallies in 18 tiger range States in India
As a part of “Wildlife Week Celebration” and “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”
October 2 to October 8 – 7500 km
Theme “India for Tigers- A Rally on Wheels”.
Aim of raising awareness regarding the importance of tiger conservation.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav:
It is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by flagging off ‘Dandi March’ from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad on 12th March 2021. This festival began on March 12, 2021 -75 weeks prior to India’s 75th Independence Day on August 15, 2022 -and will continue until August 15, 2023.

For National Integration and National Contribution, 2021 was conferred by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu
One of the biggest civilian awards in Assam
To honour their exemplary contributions towards the integration of the nation.
3. World Wildlife Week
October 2nd to October 8th every year
Theme: Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet.
Facts: India is home to more than 7 per cent of the world’s biodiversity. A faunal wealth of India accounts for 7.4% of the world’s fauna.
4. World’s largest Khadi National Flag
On October 2nd
To mark the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
World’s largest national flag was inaugurated in Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Made of Khadi by KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission)
Inaugurated by Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur
The flag is about 225 feet long and 150 feet wide. It weighs around 1400 kg.
3500-man hours of work for the artisans and allied workers while making the flag.
Prepared by 70 Khadi artisans in 49 days.
