  • Observed on February 20.

2. Asia’s Largest GobarDhan (Bio – CNG) Plant:

  • Inaugurated by PM Modi in Indore.
  • Indore is one of the cleanest cities in India.
  • The plant will be operated using 100 per cent wet waste.

3. Soil Health Card day:

  • Every year India observes the day to commemorate the launch of the soil health card scheme.
  • Launched: 19th February 2015.
  • It aims at issuing soil health cards to all farmers every two years.

5. International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athlete’s Commission re-elected Emma Terho as its Chairman:

  • Emma Terho – Ice hockey player of Finland.
  • Table tennis player Seung Min Ryu of the Republic of Korea is its first vice-chair.
  • The commission also elected cyclist Sarah Walker of New Zealand as Second Vice-Chair.

6. REWARD Project Agreement:

  • The government of India and the World Bank signed a loan agreement of USD 115 million to implement the REWARD Project in the state of Karnataka and Odisha.
  • REWARD: Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development.
  • This project is an initiative of the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development and World Bank.
  • Objectives: To improve land and Water conservation and climate resilience in selected watersheds.
  • To strengthen the capacities of national and state institutions to deliver more effective science-based watershed development programs in the country.

7. Mobile Laboratory:

  • India’s and South Asia’s First Biosafety level-3 (BSL-3) containment mobile laboratory in Nashik.
  • Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
  • Designed and built by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
  • Purpose: To investigate the newly emerging and re-emerging viral infections that are extremely infectious and have a high potential to kill human beings.

8. Kisan Drones:

  • PM Modi Flagged off 100 Kisan Drones.
  • To spray pesticides on farms.

9. 7th Year of PMFBY:

  • Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
  • Launched on 18th February 2016 at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh.
  • To provide financial support to farmers suffering from crop loss or damage arising out of natural calamities.
  • Implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

10. Heal by India initiative:

  • To improve India’s educational institutions in the health sector.
  • By the Ministry of Health.
  • It is meant to generate job opportunities abroad for India’s trained professionals in the health sector.

11. France announces military withdrawal from Mali after Nine years of fighting the Jihadist insurgency.

12. Book Released:

  • Book – A Nation to Protect.
  • Author – Priyam Gandhi Mody.
  • It highlights the role of PM Modi during the COVID crisis in the past two years.

13. International Mother Language Day:

  • Observed on 21st February
  • Theme 2022: Using Technology for multilingual learning: Challenges and opportunities.

15. India and France agree on a Roadmap on Blue Economy and Ocean Governance:

  • To contribute to scientific knowledge and Ocean conservation and ensure that the ocean remains a global common based on the rule of law.

16. Exercise Eastern Bridge VI:

  • Air exercise between Indian Air Force and Royal Air Force of Oman.
  • Held at Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

17. India showcases Export Potential of Organic & Horticulture Produce at EXPO2020 Dubai:

  • Despite the pandemic, India’s organic exports grew 51% over 2019-20 levels.
