1. Track Asia Cup 2022:
- Kerala is all set to host the Track Asia Cup-2022 cycling tournament, one of the biggest cycling events, from November 25 to 28, 2022.
- Around 200 cyclists from over 25 countries in Asia will take part in the event, which is being conducted outside Delhi for the first time.
- Track Asia cup is also the selection of Asian countries for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
2. Zojila Day:
- The day was commemorated at Zojila War Memorial near Drass on November 1.
- It was commemorated to celebrate the gallant action by Indian troops in ‘Operation Bison’ in 1948 which was launched on the icy heights of Zojila pass, the gateway to Ladakh.
- This battle was also historic for the reason that tanks were used for the first time at such heights.
3. Integrated ‘Aqua Park’:
- Established at Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh.
- This project is sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), with an overall cost of Rs 50 Crores.
- PMMSY (launched in 2019) aims to establish a robust fisheries management framework in the country.
4. National Tribal Dance Festival:
- Held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
- The tribal dance groups from all states and union territories of India will be taking part.
5. Central Vigilance Awareness Week:
- Observed from 31st October to 6th November.
- Theme 2022 – “Corruption-Free India for a developed Nation”
6. International Open Access Week:
- It is celebrated worldwide to create awareness about open-access scholarly publishing among researchers and publishers by CSIR-NIScPR.
- It is celebrated globally during the last full week of October.
7. Satellite Index-based Farm Yield Insurance Policy – HDFC ERGO:
- HDFC ERGO launched a farm yield Insurance Policy which is the first of its kind insurance solution, where a satellite-based index will be used to provide localized coverage at the farm level.
- This is completely technology-based, meaning, no manual examination is required in the claim assessment of crops.
8. Responsible Steel Site Certification – Tata’s Jamshedpur Site:
- The Jamshedpur Site becomes India’s first site to join the exclusive group of steel-producing sites around the world to receive the Responsible Steel Certification.
9. First Indian Geo Heritage Site:
- Mawmluh Cave, East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.
- The cave is a long maze with many openings and is decorated with stalactites, stalagmites, columns, drapes and moon milk.
