1. First open rock museum inaugurated:
- Different types of rocks from different states are displayed at CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) campus, Hyderabad.
2. 19th CHENNAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (CIFF):
- Lifetime achievement award – Singeetham Srinivasa Rao
- Best Tamil feature film award – Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengalum; Vasanth sai – director and producer; it shows a sensitive portrayal of struggles faced by women across different eras and times.
- Special Jury award – Actress Lakshmi Priya
- The second place was shared by Seththumaan, directed by Tamizh and produced by Pa. Ranjith and Thaen, directed by Ganesh Vinayakkan and produced by Ambalavanan and Prema.
- The movie Thaen dealt with how the government machinery makes life difficult for ordinary people by forcing them to obtain official documents.
3. 19th Meeting of NTCA:
- National Tiger Conservation Authority
- Currently, there are 51 tiger reserves in India.
- 14 tiger reserves across India have received accreditation of the global conservation Assured tiger standards (CA / TS).
- Among 14, Tamilnadu gets 2 tiger reserves. One is the Mudumalai tiger reserve and the other is the Anamalai tiger reserve.
4. Re-appoints Vijay Paul Sharma as CACP chairman:
- Commission for Agricultural costs and prices.
- Comes under the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare.
- The CACP recommends the MSP to the cabinet committee of economic affairs to incentivise cultivators.
5. Robert Irwin:
- Awarded the London’s natural history museum’s wildlife photographer of the year people’s choice award 2020.
- Awarded for his drone image of the bushfire in Australia.
