1. Sustainable Mountain Development Summit (SMDS):
- Held at Leh, Ladakh.
- Theme: ‘Harnessing tourism for sustainable mountain development.
- The SMDS is a flagship annual event of the Integrated Mountain Initiative (IMI), a civil society-led forum that comprises 10 mountain states & 2 UTs.
2. 4th Heli India Summit 2022:
- Held in Srinagar.
- The theme of the Summit: “Helicopters for last Mile Connectivity”
- 3rd Summit – Uttarakhand in 2021.
3. International day of Girl Child:
- Observed on 11th October
- Theme 2022 – “Our time is now – our rights, our future”
4. SASTRA Ramanujan Prize 2022:
- Awarded to Yunqing Tang of China.
- For displaying a remarkable combination of sophisticated techniques in arithmetic and geometry of modular curves and Shimura Varieties.
5. GLONASS-K:
- It is a navigation satellite launched by RUSSIA.
- It was launched aboard the medium-class Soyuz 2.1b rocket.
- The newly launched satellite weighs about 2,100 pounds (950 kilograms) and is designed to operate for at least 10 years, according to RussianSpaceWeb.
- Its orbit lies about 11,870 miles (19,100 kilometres) above Earth.
6. Survekshan Gramin Award 2022:
- 1st Prize –TELANGANA, under the large states category
- HARYANA – 2nd Prize
- TAMIL NADU – 3rd Prize
- The Swachh Survekshan Gramin-2022 award by the JAL SHAKTI MINISTRY ranks states and districts on the basis of their performance attained on key quantitative and qualitative Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G) parameters and engagement of the rural community in the improvement of their sanitation status.
7. ‘Hall of Fame’ honour:
- Won by KERALA.
- 4th time in a row by winning the national award in the comprehensive tourism development category.
- This honour is given to those who have received the national tourism award three times consecutively in the same category.
