1. Qimingxing -50: China’s 1st Solar Powered Drone cum Satellite:

  • It is also called Morning Star – 50
  • It can fly uninterrupted for months and can function even as a satellite if required.
  • It is also referred to as a High Altitude Platform station or a Pseudo-Satellite.

3. Mukul Rohatgi set to be Attorney General of India for the second time:

  • The tenure of the incumbent Attorney General K.K. Venugopal is coming to a close on 30 September 2022.

  • The Attorney General of India (AGI) is the highest law officer in the country and the chief legal advisor to the government of India.

4. ‘Kakadu’ Multinational Naval Exercise:

  • INS Satpura and P8I Maritime Patrol Aircraft reached Darwin in Australia to participate in the Multinational Naval Exercise ‘Kakadu’.
  • This exercise is being hosted by the Royal Australian Navy.
  • The Indian Air Force also participated in Exercise ‘Pitch Black’ in Australia on Aug ’22.

5. India’s first Forestry University to be established in Telangana:

  • Telangana has decided to expand Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI) in Hyderabad into a full-fledged university.
  • The University of Forestry (UOF) will be the first of its kind in the country.
  • Only Russia and China have forest universities in the world, globally.

6. National Defense MSME Conclave and Exhibition – Kota, Rajasthan:

  • Start-ups and MSMEs are showcasing their products, as are young people innovating in the defence sector.
  • The event will feature participation from more than 50 defence-related businesses, startups, and MSMEs.

7. Kazakhstan to change the name of the capital from Nur-sultan back to ‘Astana’:

  • Kazakhstan president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev changed the capital from Astana to Nur-sultan in 2019 which is named after his predecessor Nursultan Nazarbayev.
  • The capital is now being restored to the previous capital of Astana.

8. New Bird Sanctuary – Nanjarayan Tank:

  • The Tamil Nadu government has notified the Nanjarayan tank in Tiruppur district as the 17th bird sanctuary in the State.
  • The tank, locally called Sarkar Periyapalayam tank, lies at the junction of Tiruppur North and Uthukuli taluks.
  • The tank is considered an abode of migratory bird species. Bar-headed goose, ruddy shelduck, northern shoveler and many other species are expected to arrive at the tank.

9. M Damodaran Committee:

  • To unravel regulatory hurdles for venture capital and private equity investors.
  • Constituted by the Finance Ministry.
  • The committee is tasked with undertaking a comprehensive systematic study of the ‘end-to-end frictions’ and ‘potential accelerants’ from regulatory policy and taxation to facilitate ‘ease of investing’ and encourage investments in India.
