1. More Castes in the ST list:
- The union cabinet has approved the inclusion of several communities in the Scheduled Tribes list of the constitution across 5 states which include Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
- Scheduled Tribes list:
- Hatti Community – Himachal Pradesh
- Narikoravan and Kuruvikkaran – Tamil Nadu
- Kadu Kuruba – Karnataka
- Binjhia – Chhattisgarh (Also in Jharkhand and Odisha)
- Gond community – Uttar Pradesh (Previously in Scheduled Castes list)
2. ‘BLO e-Patrika’ – ECI:
- It is a new digital publication launched by the Election Commission of India.
- It is a first-of-its-kind direct interactive session with Booth Level Officers from across India.
- The institution of Booth Level Officers (BLO) was established by the Election Commission of India in 2006.

3. ‘Shoonya Campaign’ – 1 year anniversary:
- The campaign aims to promote zero pollution delivery vehicles by collaborating with consumers and the industry.
- The campaign intends to increase the use of Electric vehicles in urban delivery and increase consumer awareness about the advantages of zero pollution delivery.
- The campaign was launched by NITI Aayog in September 2021
- In India, Urban freight vehicles account for 10% of freight transportation-related CO2 emissions and these emissions are expected to rise by 114% by 2030.
- EVs generate 15% to 40% less CO2 than Internal Combustion Engines (ICEs) and have lower operating costs even during production.
- Shoonya will facilitate India’s five-point agenda(Panchamrit) to cut carbon emissions and secure its 2070 climate targets, as outlined at the UNFCCC – COP26.
4. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park – Best Zoo in India:
- The park is located in Darjeeling, West Bengal.
- The Red Panda is one of the top attractions of Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park.
- Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Chennai – 2nd Place
- Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, Mysore, Karnataka – 3rd Place.
- A zoo directors conference was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where the Central Zoo Authority released the ranking list.
5. TCS – India’s Most Valuable Brand in 2022:
- According to the Kantar Brandz Most Valuable Indian Brands 2022 report, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has emerged as India’s most Valuable Brand value at ~USD 45.5 Billion.
- HDFC Bank has ranked – 2nd Rank.
6. ‘Defender’ – 1st Anti Drone Product:
- Launched by RattanIndia Enterprise.
- It can work both manually and via Artificial Intelligence.
7. World Ozone Day:
- Observed on 16th September
- Also known as International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.
- Theme 2022 – “Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth”
8. Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme launched in TN:
- Rolled out for students of Class I to V in the government schools of Tamil Nadu.
- Launched at the Athimoolam Corporation Primary School in Simmakkal, Madurai on 15th September.
- Under the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, 1.14 lakh children from 1,545 schools will benefit at a cost of ₹12.75 per day / per child.
