1. Pudhumaipithan Award:

  • Won by Sukirtharani and Stalin Rajangam
  • Award given by Vilakku Ilakkiya Amaippu for the year 2020.
  • 25th Award

2. Green Energy Corridor Phase -II

  • 10,750 kilometres of transmission lines are to be constructed and 27,500 MVA substations are to be added.
  • Implemented in seven states. They are Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Kerala, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.
  • Implemented between 2021-22 and 2025-26
  • 33% of the project cost is to be provided by the central government.
  • It will help India achieve its target of 450GW of renewable energy by 2030.

3. Veer Gatha Project:

  • As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
  • Launched to inspire the school children by making them aware of stories of war heroes and brave hearts.
  • Super 25: 25 students have been selected as the winners of this project.
  • Organised by the ministry of education, the department of school education and literacy, and the central board of secondary education (CBSE).

4. World Record in Numerology:

  • JC Chaudhry has achieved the first-ever Guinness World Record in Numerology and the first world record in 2022.

5. First Paperless court:

  • Kerala high court is set to become India’s first paperless court.

6. Veer Baal Diwas:

  • The government of India decides to commemorate 26th December as Veer Baal Diwas.
  • In honour of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh for their supreme and unparalleled sacrifice on 26th December 1705 to defend the dignity and honour of Sikhism

7. First ever startup India Innovation Week:

  • 10th – 16th January 2022
  • Organised by the department of promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT).
  • Designed to showcase the spread and depth of entrepreneurship across India.

8. Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas Day:

  • Celebrated on Jan 9 every year.
  • To mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community towards the development of India.
  • The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Mumbai on 9th January 1915.
  • Observed by the Ministry of external affairs since 2003 biennial.
